WHO WE ARE
Who We Are
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is committed to conserving the province's rich biodiversity while offering world-class ecotourism experiences. As custodians of protected areas, we ensure nature thrives for generations to come. The organisation's journey began with the preservation of the southern white rhino, a symbol of resilience and conservation success, and continues to inspire efforts to protect endangered species across the region.
KwaZulu-Natal's protected areas hold a rich tapestry of cultural and natural heritage spanning thousands of years. From the ancient San rock art of the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg to the colonial-era game reserves established in the early 20th century, each protected area tells a story of human interaction with the natural world. The province is home to three World Heritage Sites and numerous national heritage sites, making it one of the most culturally and naturally significant regions on the African continent.
