CONSERVATION LEGACY
Our Story
Dedicated to conserving KwaZulu-Natal's rich biodiversity while offering world-class ecotourism experiences.
WHO WE ARE
Who We Are
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is committed to conserving the province's rich biodiversity while offering world-class ecotourism experiences. As custodians of protected areas, we ensure nature thrives for generations to come. The organisation's journey began with the preservation of the southern white rhino, a symbol of resilience and conservation success, and continues to inspire efforts to protect endangered species across the region.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (Ezemvelo), established under the KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Management Act No. 9 of 1997, is mandated to conserve biodiversity, manage protected areas, and promote sustainable ecotourism across KwaZulu-Natal. The organisation's mandate is anchored in both national and provincial environmental legislation, including the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (57 of 2003), the National Biodiversity Act (10 of 2004), and the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (1996).
