WHO WE ARE

Who We Are

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is committed to conserving the province's rich biodiversity while offering world-class ecotourism experiences. As custodians of protected areas, we ensure nature thrives for generations to come. The organisation's journey began with the preservation of the southern white rhino, a symbol of resilience and conservation success, and continues to inspire efforts to protect endangered species across the region.

REGULATORY SERVICES

Permits Unit

The Permits Unit administers the regulatory framework governing the use, possession, and trade of indigenous biological resources in KwaZulu-Natal. Operating under the KZN Nature Conservation Management Act and national biodiversity legislation, the unit processes permit applications for activities including scientific research, wildlife capture and translocation, hunting, and the collection of indigenous plants. The unit works to balance resource use with conservation imperatives.
